Over 1,000 Bacolod Police Officers Participate in ‘Pulisteniks’ for Wellness

Bacolod: The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) has resumed its 'Pulisteniks' physical conditioning activities this week, engaging 1,088 personnel in a program designed to promote holistic wellness.

According to Philippines News Agency, Capt. Ma. Liberty Indiape, public information officer of BCPO, mentioned in an interview that they have enlisted a fitness instructor to lead exercise sessions every Tuesday and Thursday at 3 p.m. These sessions take place at the BCPO covered gym, though individual police stations are encouraged to conduct their own activities as well.

'Pulisteniks', a combination of 'pulis' and 'calisthenics', is part of the Philippine National Police's (PNP) initiative to promote wellness, focusing on physical fitness, mental resilience, and overall well-being. The BCPO emphasized its commitment to keeping personnel fit, alert, and ready for their law enforcement duties.

The program also aims to build camaraderie and teamwork within the organization. It is a component of the police force's broader wellness campaign, highlighting the importance of physical readiness for operational excellence and effective policing.

PNP Chief General Nicolas Torre III has expressed support for the program's resumption, stating, "A strong and healthy PNP is a dependable PNP. And a dependable PNP is what our country needs."
