Legazpi: Over 3,000 job opportunities in the Bicol region's six provinces are available as part of the Handog ng Pangulo 2025 Job Fair scheduled for Saturday. More than 45 employers will participate in the one-day event that coincides with the 68th birthday celebration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr., said Johana Vi Gasga, Department of Labor and Employment-5 spokesperson. The event will take place simultaneously at six venues: Ayala Malls Legazpi in Albay, Sorsogon Provincial Gymnasium in Sorsogon, Fuerte Cam Sur Sports Complex in Camarines Sur, SM Daet in Camarines Norte, Capitol Grounds in Masbate City in Masbate, and Catanduanes Provincial Capitol in Virac for Catanduanes Province.
According to Philippines News Agency, during the event, DOLE-5 will also provide cash assistance to 988 beneficiaries of the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP) and 2,204 beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) program. Gasga also noted that the department will award stipends from the government internship program and salaries from the Special Program for Employment of Students in Camarines Norte, along with a check to a beneficiary in Sorsogon.
In total, over PHP52 million in assistance will be distributed, further supporting the region's workforce development and economic growth.
