Over 375,000 Ilocos Region Residents Adopt eGovPH App for Government Services

Ilocos: Some 375,718 Ilocos Region residents have downloaded and are using the eGovPH mobile app for streamlined access to national and local government services, a Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) official said Wednesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, as of May 25 this year, about 216,000 downloads were recorded in Pangasinan, 65,000 in La Union, 51,000 in Ilocos Sur, and 42,000 in Ilocos Norte, DICT Ilocos Region director June Vincent Manuel Gaudan said in a forum hosted by the Philippine Information Agency Ilocos Region.

Gaudan stated that the app already has 34 integrated services, six linked websites, and 13 ongoing integration of services since it was released in 2023 to serve as a single operating system for all Philippine government services in one application. The mobile app serves as a one-stop-shop platform that provides convenience to the public and facilitates transactions.

'It is very easy to use and best rated government application with 4.8 rating out of 5,' he said. The newest services in the application include the updating of senior citizen identification (ID) card, arrangement of travel services or the generation of eTravel, and the online access to licenses such as driver's license and licenses from the Professional Regulatory Commission.

Everybody registered to the app will automatically have their senior citizen ID once they turn 60 years old since the eGovPH app is now linked to the national identification system, he noted. Travelers to other countries will also now be able to access eTravel through the application.

'I encourage everyone to download the eGovPH app,' Gaudan said, adding that digital transformation is aimed at making people's lives easier through technology. Gaudan also assured the security of data provided by users via the system.
