Iloilo city: The city government has received 3,300 values storybooks that will be distributed to 206 daycare centers and 14 mobile and indoor libraries as part of its campaign to promote early childhood reading. Mayor Raisa Tre±as received the donation from G-PJ Holdings Corp., the Jollibee franchise operator, during an interactive storytelling activity Tuesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, Mayor Tre±as emphasized that the donation supports the city's efforts to provide children with reading materials that promote values formation. "Every child deserves the chance to dream, imagine and discover the joy of reading. That is why receiving 3,300 new Jollibee storybooks is more than just a donation-it is an investment in the future of our young Ilonggos," she said.

Each daycare center will receive 15 books, which are written in English and Filipino and feature colorful illustrations. These materials are expected to benefit about 12,000 daycare pupils, as noted by Special Assistant to the Mayor Mathilde Tre±as. "Mayor Tre±as has been encouraging reading sessions at an early age," she added.

The values storybooks were developed by Jollibee's central office to encourage children's love for reading and support character development. Aside from Iloilo City, the municipality of Leganes in Iloilo province also received 180 storybooks.
