Overseas Filipinos Remittances Rise to $2.79B in February

Manila: Cash remittances from overseas Filipinos have reached USD2.79 billion in February 2026, marking continued steady inflows that support the Philippine economy.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas reported that on a cumulative basis, cash remittances expanded by 3.1 percent from USD5.63 billion in January-February 2025 to USD5.81 billion in January-February 2026. The United States remained the largest source of remittances during the January-February period, followed by Singapore and Saudi Arabia, underscoring the continued reliance on key labor markets for Filipino workers abroad.

Meanwhile, personal remittances, which cover cash transfers through banks and informal channels, as well as remittances in kind, hit USD3.10 billion in February 2026. For the January-February period, personal remittances likewise grew by 3.1 percent from USD6.27 billion in 2025 to USD6.46 billion this year.

The sustained increase in both cash and personal remittances highlights the resilience of overseas Filipinos and their continued contribution to the Philippine economy despite global uncertainties.
