Bicol: The Police Regional Office in Bicol (PRO-5) has confiscated a total of over PHP1.6 million worth of illegal drugs during weeklong operations from April 14 to 20. In a report on Monday, PRO-5 Director, Brig. Gen. Andrei Dizon, said they will continue to deliver on their commitment to maintaining peace and order across the Bicol Region.
According to Philippines News Agency, in the weeklong campaign, a total of 21 anti-drug operations were conducted, leading to the arrest of 22 drug suspects. These efforts culminated in the confiscation of 37.243 grams of shabu and four grams of marijuana, with a standard drug price of PHP1.6 million.
Camarines Sur province recorded the highest value of shabu seized with PHP1.37 million; followed by Masbate with PHP108,800; Albay with PHP68,680; Camarines Norte with PHP53,244; Naga City with PHP6,970; Sorsogon with PHP1,020; and Catanduanes with no reported seizure.
Dizon lauded the unwavering efforts of the operating units and emphasized that the campaign against illegal drugs remains a top priority. He said that PRO-5 will continue to intensify its operations in coordination with local communities and stakeholders to eliminate the presence of illegal drugs in the region.
These accomplishments show a consistent and determined pursuit of a safer and drug-free Bicol. With the help of community partners and law enforcement units, PRO-5 aims to sustain this momentum and ensure that the region remains peaceful and secure.
