P1.9-M Drugs Seized, 74 Drug Suspects Nabbed in Southern Metro Manila

Manila: The Southern Police District (SPD) seized PHP1.8 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 74 suspects in 59 operations launched from Nov. 17-23. In a report on Tuesday, SPD chief Brig. Gen. Randy Arceo highlighted the significant haul of 276.42 grams of shabu, 5 grams of marijuana, and 0.9 gram of kush, along with other drug-related paraphernalia, with an estimated value of PHP1,881,516.

According to Philippines News Agency, among those arrested, two were identified as high-value individuals (HVIs), while the remaining 72 were street-level individuals (SLIs). Brig. Gen. Arceo emphasized that these accomplishments underscore the commitment of SPD personnel to combat illegal drug proliferation and safeguard the communities they serve. He praised the dedication and professionalism of all units involved and reaffirmed the SPD's support for the national anti-illegal drug campaign of the Philippine National Police.

The SPD's jurisdiction includes the cities of Makati, Pasay, Taguig, Para±aque, Las Pi±as, and Muntinlupa, as well as the municipality of Pateros.

In a related development, operatives of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) have successfully arrested all ten most wanted fugitives in Metro Manila in recent operations. These operations were executed by the police districts of Manila, Quezon City, Northern, Southern, and Eastern Metro Manila.

NCRPO director Maj. Gen. Anthony Aberin noted that the arrests were the result of sustained warrant enforcement operations across the region. He commended his team for their coordinated efforts in intelligence checks, field validation, and the direct service of warrants, which led to the rare achievement of apprehending all individuals on the ten most wanted list within days.
