P1-M Shabu and Gun Seized in Surigao City Drug Sting

Surigao city: Authorities arrested a high-value drug suspect and seized over PHP1 million worth of shabu during a buy-bust operation in Surigao City on Tuesday, an official said Wednesday.

According to Philippines News Agency, in a report, Col. Warren Dablo, director of the Surigao del Norte Provincial Police Office (SDNPPO), stated that the suspect, identified as a 51-year-old male resident of the city's Barangay Taft, was also found in possession of a firearm.

Police confiscated four heat-sealed sachets containing 150.2 grams of shabu, valued at approximately PHP1,021,292, along with a .45-caliber pistol and ammunition from the suspect. "The SDNPPO remains resolute in protecting our communities from the grave threat posed by illegal drugs," Dablo said.

The arrested individual is currently held by the Surigao City police and faces charges for violating Republic Act 9165, also known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
