Sual: The local executive of Sual town has made an offer of PHP100,000 for any information leading to the arrest of two inmates who recently escaped from custody.

According to Philippines News Agency, Pangasinan Police Provincial Office director Col. Arbel Mercullo reported that three individuals under police custody managed to escape from the Sual Police Station on April 12. On Monday morning, one of the escapees, a 36-year-old resident of Malasiqui, Pangasinan, was recaptured at a gasoline station in Sual.

Police data identifies the two remaining escapees as a 40-year-old male from Domalandan East, Lingayen, facing charges for carjacking and violation of Republic Act 9165, known as the Dangerous Drugs Act, and a 26-year-old from Labrador, charged under RA 9165 and RA 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act. Mercullo highlighted that closed circuit television footage showed the inmates exploiting an unattended custodial area to make their escape.

In response to the incident, the chief of police of Sual, Maj. Vincent Jasper Magsarili, along with eight other officers on duty at the time, have been relieved from their posts to facilitate an impartial and thorough investigation. Mercullo urged the public to assist in locating the escapees by sharing the details and pictures posted on social media platforms.
