Bacolod: Anti-drug operations conducted by the Police Regional Office in Western Visayas (PRO6) over three weeks netted around PHP25.6 million worth of illegal drugs. The operations, which ran from Dec. 15, 2024, to Jan. 5, 2025, also resulted in the arrest of 140 suspects, the regional police reported on Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, the series of 95 operations led to the seizure of around 3,768 grams of shabu and marijuana. The Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) recorded the largest haul with shabu worth PHP16.5 million, followed by the Iloilo City Police Office with PHP6.5 million and the Iloilo Police Provincial Office with PHP1.08 million.
PRO6 regional director Brig. Gen. Jack Wanky, in a press release, ordered police units to maintain the intensity of the campaign in close coordination and collaboration with different law enforcement agencies, local government units, and the community.
