P3.9-M Worth of Illegal Vape Products Seized in Quezon City

Quezon City: Police arrested six persons and seized illegal vape products worth almost PHP4 million in Quezon City.

According to Philippines News Agency, Philippine National Police-Criminal Investigation and Detection Group Director Maj. Gen. Nicolas Torre III stated that the suspects, identified as "Seb", "Mon", "Genevieve", "Rorem", "Kenneth", and "Pahrysz", were engaged in selling and distributing vape products without the necessary permits from the Department of Trade and Industry. The operation took place in Barangays Bagbag and Roxas District on March 12.

The suspects have been charged with multiple violations, including Republic Act 11900 (Vaporized Nicotine and Non-Nicotine Products Regulation Act), RA No. 10643 (Graphic Health Warnings Law), RA No. 10175 (Cybercrime Prevention Act of 2012), and Section 10 in relation to Section 18 (a) of RA 7394 (Consumer Act of the Philippines). These charges pertain to the illegal sale and distribution of unregistered vape products, illegal online distribution, and failure to display required health warnings.

Maj. Gen. Torre emphasized the state's role in protecting and promoting the right to health and fostering health consciousness among citizens. He urged the public to report any illegal trade of vape products and other unlawful activities to their local authorities, assuring them that the CIDG would take appropriate action.
