P9.4-B Seized Drugs Fully Destroyed in Capas

Capas: The PHP9.4-billion worth of seized illegal drugs, including a significant 'floating shabu' haul, have been completely destroyed with no residual traces, Malaca±ang announced. The destruction was overseen by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. at a thermal facility in Capas, Tarlac, where he personally witnessed the chemical testing of narcotics prior to their incineration.

According to Philippines News Agency, a news release from the Presidential Communications Office (PCO) on Monday confirmed that all four ash samples, taken from separate incineration batches, tested negative for methamphetamine (shabu), marijuana, cocaine, and ecstasy. The PCO emphasized that all tests returned negative results, confirming the thoroughness of the incineration process, as reported by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to the President.

The ashes from the incineration were tested and documented with photo evidence to ensure compliance with destruction protocols and environmental regulations. The drugs, weighing over 1,530 kilos, included a substantial amount of shabu recently recovered by local fishers off the northern Luzon coast. This discovery has been highlighted by the Palace as one of the biggest drug seizures in Philippine history.

President Marcos reiterated his administration's commitment to a 'balanced, humane, and evidence-based' approach to addressing the drug issue, aiming to foster public trust and counter allegations of drug recycling.
