PAF C-130 Aircraft Delivers Aid and Evacuates Stranded Individuals in Batanes

Batanes: The Philippine Air Force (PAF) dispatched a C-130 aircraft to Batanes, delivering 1,000 family food packs to typhoon victims in Basco and evacuating 88 individuals stranded by the severe weather conditions to Villamor Air Base in Pasay City.

According to Philippines News Agency, PAF spokesperson Col. Ma. Christina Basco stated that the mission was a coordinated effort involving Tactical Operations Group 2, the Philippine National Police, Bureau of Fire Protection, 30th Marine Company, Marine Battalion Landing Team 10, and reservists from the PAF and Philippine Army. She emphasized the Armed Forces' commitment to humanitarian assistance and public service, highlighting the PAF's role in delivering essential support across the nation.

In addition to the Batanes operation, the PAF deployed two S-70i "Black Hawk" helicopters to transport over 800 boxes of relief goods from Laoag City to Calayan Island, Cagayan. These goods, provided by the Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Education, were intended for communities affected by Super Typhoon Nando.

The helicopter mission was executed by the 205th Tactical Helicopter Wing, with support from Tactical Operations Group 1 and coordination with the Philippine Coast Guard, Philippine Marine Corps, and the Philippine National Police. Col. Basco reiterated the PAF's dedication to providing swift assistance to safeguard the welfare of Filipinos in times of crisis.
