Manila: The Pag-IBIG Fund has raised its maximum housing loan limit to PHP10 million and expanded its Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino Program (4PH) portfolio, helping build or finance over 500,000 housing units nationwide.
According to Philippines News Agency, in his fifth State of the Nation Address (SONA) on Monday, President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. stated that the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development's efforts to address the country's housing gap have resulted in historic productivity. The initiatives have been implemented through new communities, Pag-IBIG Fund acquired assets, the Community Mortgage Program, resettlements, and rental housing.
More than 100,000 homes were added within a single year under the expanded 4PH program. President Marcos emphasized that a good loan system is essential to making housing more affordable for Filipinos, highlighting the expansion's success with the Pag-IBIG Fund's active membership reaching 17 million.
The increase in the loan limit provides greater purchasing power and enables working families and couples to secure their dream homes. President Marcos also noted that the Pag-IBIG Fund offers comprehensive social protection for homeownership and retirement, serving as a reliable partner during emergencies, calamities, and personal crises for worker welfare across the nation.
