PAL’s Direct Manila – Da Nang Route Starts

Manila: Flag carrier Philippine Airlines' (PAL) thrice-weekly direct services between Manila and Da Nang, Vietnam commenced Tuesday, with a planned increase to four flights a week by November.

According to Philippines News Agency, Flight PR 585 Manila-Da Nang is scheduled every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 11:10 a.m., arriving in Da Nang at 12:45 p.m. The Da Nang-Manila flight PR 586 is every Tuesday, Thursday, and Saturday at 1:35 p.m., arriving at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport at 5:10 p.m.

"This flight is more than a connection between two cities. It's a bridge between our people, cultures, and shared dreams," Vietnam Ambassador to the Philippines Lai Thai Binh said during the send-off ceremony at Terminal 1 on Tuesday. He highlighted the significance of the launch as both countries prepare to celebrate the 10th anniversary of the Philippines-Vietnam strategic partnership this year and the 50th anniversary of Philippines-Vietnam diplomatic relations in 2026.

Tourism Undersecretary Shahlimar Hofer Tamano, also present at the ceremony, remarked that the direct connection responds to the growing demand for accessible tourism experiences as Vietnam continues to rise as one of the most visited destinations by Filipino travelers, while the Philippines also welcomes more visitors from Vietnam.

PAL now serves three destinations in Vietnam. "That speaks of the solid bond of friendship that unites the Filipino and Vietnamese people," PAL president Richard Nuttall stated. The Tan-led PAL offers 24 weekly nonstop flights to Da Nang, Ho Chi Minh City (Saigon), and Hanoi, including three weekly flights that connect Cebu to Ho Chi Minh City.

For the Da Nang flights, PAL is utilizing Airbus A321 jetliners that could accommodate 199 passengers.
