Pangasinan: Fisherfolk and local leaders in the provinces of Pangasinan and La Union commended the efforts of the national government in upholding the country's protection of the West Philippine Sea. Edgar Sison, chairperson of the Lingayen Municipal Agricultural and Fisheries Council, expressed gratitude for the national government's actions in maintaining the West Philippine Sea's sovereignty, emphasizing the significance of this issue for coastal communities like theirs.

According to Philippines News Agency, a dialogue facilitated by the national government took place during the "Bayanihan para sa Kanlurang Dagat ng Pilipinas 2026" Summit at the Sison Auditorium. This event brought together officials from various regions including La Union, Batanes, Zambales, Ilocos Norte, Ilocos Sur, Palawan, Bataan, and Oriental Mindoro, marking the 10th Anniversary of the 2016 Arbitral Award in the South China Sea Arbitration. Sison highlighted the importance of unity among provinces to demonstrate seriousness in defending the West Philippine Sea, urging ongoing support for the fisherfolk, who rely heavily on marine resources for their livelihood.

La Union Governor Mario Eduardo Ortega praised President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.'s strategic approach to the West Philippine Sea issue. He emphasized the importance of a well-thought-out strategy that avoids initiating violence while standing firm on the nation's stance. Governor Ortega reiterated the province's full support for the government's position as a key player in this matter.

Pangasinan Governor Ramon Guico III echoed these sentiments, underscoring the importance of a nation's resolve in ensuring peace, justice, and progress for its people. The support from the national government, including the provision of motorized boats and fishing gear through the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources, was also acknowledged as a critical component in empowering local fishing communities.
