Pangasinan serves 1.3K household evacuees

Malasiqui: Around 1,300 families, or 4,495 individuals, from Pangasinan who evacuated due to Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name: Trami) have been served with meals and hygiene kits. In the situational report as of 11 a.m. Friday, the Pangasinan Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) said there are over 13,020 family food packs that include two kilos of rice, three canned goods, and coffee sachets, and an additional 299 family food packs from the National Grid Corporation of the Philippines (NGCP) that are on stockpile. There are also hygiene kits with tootbrush, toothpaste, alcohol, hand soap, detergent, tissue, and towel. Food and non-food items including mats, tents, bottled water, and blankets among others are also available at the Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office. The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has a stockpile of 7,954 family food packs and 960 other food and non-food items in its satellite office in Pangasinan ready f or augmentation. PDRRMO head Rhodyn Luchinvar Oro, in his report, said Kristine has affected 36,185 families, or 150,469 individuals, in the 15 municipalities and cities in the province. Fifteen villages in 10 municipalities reported flooding while 33 villages in two cities and seven municipalities reported storm surge. There are roads passable to light vehicles only while others remain impassable to all types of vehicles. A total of 60 villages are experiencing power interruption. Some 42 houses were damaged. Initial damage to agriculture amounted to PHP28.59 million while to infrastructure was initially placed at PHP110.8 million. No casualties were reported. Tropical Cylone Wind Signal No. 2 is still up in the province as well as the storm surge advisory as Kristine exits the Philippine Area of Responsibility. Source: Philippines News agency
