PAOCC and Bureau of Immigration Deport 100 Chinese Nationals Involved in Illegal Gaming

Manila: The Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission (PAOCC) and the Bureau of Immigration have deported 100 Chinese nationals who were apprehended in raids on Philippine Offshore Gaming Operators (POGOs) since last year. This action aligns with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to clamp down on foreign nationals engaged in illegal online gaming and scamming operations, as well as to dismantle organized criminal networks.

According to Philippines News Agency, the PAOCC coordinated with the Chinese Embassy in the Philippines to facilitate the deportation. The deportees were sent home on a Philippine Airlines flight bound for Shanghai, departing from Ninoy Aquino International Airport Terminal 1 in Para±aque City. The PAOCC stated that the individuals were apprehended during joint law enforcement operations targeting scam hubs involved in illegal offshore gaming and fraud activities.

The apprehensions took place in various locations: Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu on August 31, 2024; Silang, Cavite on January 16, 2025; Para±aque on February 20, 2025; and Pasay City on February 27, 2025. The operations are part of a larger effort to address criminal activities associated with POGOs in the country.
