PBBM Administration Earmarks PHP67.9 Billion for Judiciary in 2026

Manila: The administration of President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. has allocated a total of PHP67.9 billion for the Judiciary in 2026 to enhance the administration of justice in the country and improve services for the Filipino people. Aiming to build a fair, efficient, and accessible justice system, the budget also includes PHP43.6 billion for the Department of Justice (DOJ).

According to Philippines News Agency, President Marcos emphasized the importance of bolstering the Judiciary system in his budget message. "A total of PHP67.9 billion is allocated for the Judiciary and PHP43.6 billion for the Department of Justice (DOJ) as we work towards building a fair, efficient, accessible and improved justice system," the President stated.

DBM Secretary Amenah Pangandaman expressed support for the President's objectives and assured that the next year's funding would adequately support programs aimed at protecting citizens' rights and ensuring timely delivery of justice.

The 2026 National Expenditure Program outlines the allocation of the Judiciary budget, with PHP32.4 billion designated for the Supreme Court and the Lower Courts, PHP1.6 billion for the Court of Appeals, PHP710 million for the Sandiganbayan, and PHP306 million for the Court of Tax Appeals.

The Supreme Court's Strategic Plan for Judicial Innovations 2022-2027 will receive PHP5.2 billion to support its long-term reform efforts. Additionally, PHP176 million will be allocated to establish four additional justice zones in 2026, aimed at reducing case backlogs and fostering cooperation among agencies through the Justice Sector Convergence Program.

Furthermore, the budget for the construction, repair, and rehabilitation of Halls of Justice across the nation has been significantly increased to PHP2.7 billion, a 273.3 percent rise from the PHP720 million allocated in 2025. This allocation includes the first-year funding requirement for constructing the Manila Hall of Justice.
