TAGAYTAY CITY: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday led the distribution of financial assistance worth PHP42.33 million to farmers and fisherfolk in Cavite province affected by Severe Tropical Storm Kristine (international name Trami) and Super Typhoon Leon (Kong-rey). A total of 4,233 beneficiaries from 21 municipalities in the province received PHP10,000 each. According to Philippines News Agency, President Marcos emphasized the government's commitment to helping Caviteños return to normalcy, along with residents of neighboring provinces in the Calabarzon region. During the aid distribution event at the Tagaytay International Convention Center, the President reiterated his promise to support the victims of Kristine and Leon in recovering swiftly from the storms' impacts. The Department of Social Welfare and Development and the Department of Labor and Employment were present at the event to provide additional assistance to the affected individuals. President Marcos also called on Caviteños to rema in steadfast and optimistic, assuring them of the government's ongoing support. President Marcos encouraged the community to stay strong, collaborate, and maintain hope, as the government remains committed to supporting their recovery journey.
