PBBM, Cambodian Envoy See Enhanced PH-Cambodia Ties

Manila: Cambodian Ambassador to the Philippines Phan Peuv on Thursday described his tenure as a 'great honor and privilege,' highlighting the improved ties between Cambodia and the Philippines during his service. In a farewell meeting at Malaca±an Palace, Phan expressed gratitude for the Philippine government's support and commitment to enhancing bilateral relations.

According to Philippines News Agency, Phan noted his privilege in working to advance bilateral relations over the past three years. He acknowledged the Philippine administration's dedication to cooperation in common areas. Phan has served as Cambodia's ambassador to the Philippines since 2022, meeting President Marcos shortly before his inauguration to discuss strengthening diplomatic ties.

Phan's term concluded following Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Manet's official visit to the Philippines in February. Marcos praised Phan's contributions to the partnership between the countries, particularly in trade and transnational crime prevention. In a Facebook post, Marcos wished Phan success in his future endeavors.

The meeting at Malaca±ang resulted in eight agreements signed to expand collaboration in agriculture, education, trade, and other investments. These agreements underscore both nations' commitment to strengthening diplomatic relations, first established in 1957 and reaffirmed in 1995.
