He emphasized the government's dedication to fostering open discussions aimed at achieving dignified work, sufficient wages, and a hopeful future for Filipino families.

According to Philippines News Agency, Trade Union Congress of the Philippines (TUCP) president and House Deputy Speaker Raymond Mendoza acknowledged the meeting with President Marcos, highlighting the 'most urgent' labor and employment issues affecting millions of Filipino workers. Mendoza pointed out that the discussions centered around the protection of workers' rights, living wages, and the creation of decent jobs.

Mendoza expressed gratitude to President Marcos for engaging with labor leaders and emphasized the importance of supporting workers' rights to unionize, which is crucial for national economic recovery and attracting investments through tariff-free access and free trade agreements. He urged for tangible executive and legislative support to realize these reforms, underscoring that workers demand laws that enhance their dignity and improve their wages and job security.

The TUCP reaffirmed its commitment to collaborate with the government and key stakeholders to ensure that labor rights are consistently upheld. Mendoza highlighted that a 'more prosperous and equitable Bagong Pilipinas (New Philippines)' requires addressing the challenges faced by the workforce, particularly precarious work conditions, inadequate wages, and lack of empowerment. The TUCP is advocating for the swift enactment of measures such as the Union Formation Act, Assumption of Jurisdiction Act, and Workers' Right to Strike Act to benefit the labor sector.
