PBBM Praises Overseas Filipinos for Enhancing Philippines’ Global Reputation

Vancouver: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. expressed his gratitude to Filipinos living abroad for their significant role in enhancing the Philippines' reputation globally. Speaking to members of the Filipino community at the Fairmont Waterfront Hotel, Marcos emphasized that overseas Filipinos serve as the country's finest representatives, garnering respect and admiration in their host countries.

According to Philippines News Agency, Marcos highlighted the dual impact of overseas Filipinos, noting their contributions to both the economy and the global perception of the Philippines. He acknowledged their hard work, professionalism, and the strong family values they uphold, which bring pride and honor to the nation.

Marcos conveyed the appreciation expressed by Canadian leaders and businesses for the Filipino workforce, describing them as hardworking, reliable, and highly skilled. He noted that Filipinos in Canada are seen not only as friends but as family, underscoring the deep ties they have fostered in their communities.

He further praised Filipino healthcare workers, caregivers, engineers, architects, and other professionals for their significant contributions to key sectors in Canada, such as healthcare, construction, and education. He also commended community organizations for their efforts in preserving and promoting Philippine culture and traditions, which have strengthened bilateral relations between the Philippines and Canada.

Marcos assured the Filipino diaspora of his administration's commitment to enhancing services for them through embassies and consulates. He emphasized ongoing collaboration with the Canadian government to improve access to professional licensing and support for Filipino workers.

Reiterating his vision, Marcos stressed the importance of strengthening the Philippine economy so that working abroad becomes a choice rather than a necessity. He envisions a future where Filipinos can pursue opportunities abroad driven by personal aspirations instead of economic constraints.

Community members like Arthur Intendencia and Hannah Abellar echoed support for Marcos, emphasizing the importance of unity among Filipinos to achieve the vision of a prosperous "Bagong Pilipinas" (New Philippines). They expressed hope for a future where all Filipinos improve their lives and ensure prosperity for the next generation.
