Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is currently preparing for his fourth State of the Nation Address (SONA), with focus on presenting a clear and comprehensive report to the Filipino people, Malaca±ang said Tuesday. Marcos is scheduled to deliver his SONA before a joint session of Congress on July 28 at Batasang Pambansa, where he is expected to outline his administration's progress midway through his term, and reaffirm policy directions including the economy, infrastructure, agriculture, digitalization, and national security.
According to Philippines News Agency, in a press briefing, Presidential Communications Office (PCO) Undersecretary and Palace Press Officer Claire Castro said Marcos continues to work on refining the address, emphasizing the need for a clear and detailed report to the public. 'Ngayon po ay nagpi-prepare pa rin po at kailangan po na maging mas maganda ang pag-uulat sa taumbayan patungkol sa kaniyang mga naging proyekto at mga achievements and accomplishments (As of now, the President is still preparing to ensure a better report to the people on his projects, achievements, and accomplishments),' Castro said.
The House of Representatives has started SONA preparations as early as May, with around 27,000 security and response personnel being eyed to be deployed to secure the Batasan Complex.
