PCG Transports DOE Crew to Masbate for Power Restoration

Masbate city: The Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) is transporting Department of Energy (DOE) personnel to Masbate City to support the government's coordinated response to the effects of Severe Tropical Storm Opong (international name Bualoi).

According to Philippines News Agency, PCG Commandant, Admiral Ronnie Gil Gavan, stated that a multi-role response vessel is being used to transport the DOE crew. This initiative aims to ensure the restoration of power in the calamity-stricken city. Admiral Gavan emphasized the importance of this deployment, noting that restoring power is crucial for hospitals, evacuation centers, and residential communities. This action is seen as a vital step in stabilizing the lives of residents and sustaining ongoing relief operations.

The PCG is actively coordinating with other government agencies to continue providing humanitarian assistance, logistical support, and essential services to Masbate and other areas affected by the storm. Admiral Gavan reiterated the PCG's commitment to responding swiftly and effectively to the needs of Filipino families as they recover from the devastation caused by the typhoons.
