PCSO, Partners Mobilize Aid for Quake-Hit Sarangani, Nearby Areas

Sarangani: The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO), together with Authorized Agent Corporations (AACs) in Mindanao, has mobilized relief goods for residents and families affected by Monday morning's magnitude 7.8 earthquake that struck Maasim, Sarangani, and nearby provinces.

According to Philippines News Agency, PCSO General Manager Melquiades Robles commended the swift action of the agency's AAC partners, emphasizing that their response reflects PCSO's mission of bringing help and hope to Filipinos in urgent need. Robles noted that PCSO remains committed to supporting communities during calamities, highlighting the vital role of the agency's network in ensuring assistance is delivered quickly to the affected areas.

AACs in Mindanao were among those that rapidly moved on the ground to support residents and coordinate relief efforts with local partners. 'During times of disaster, the true spirit of compassion is shown. Our KawanggaWarriors are showing up when our kababayan need us the most. Through the collective efforts of PCSO and our Authorized Agent Corporations, we will continue to extend help, hope, and immediate support to families affected by this earthquake,' Robles stated.

Robles further expressed PCSO's readiness to support the community, especially during times of urgent need. He thanked AAC partners in Mindanao for their urgent and compassionate action. PCSO assured that its AAC partners will continue to coordinate with local government units and concerned agencies to assess the needs of affected communities and ensure the delivery of appropriate assistance.

The agency also confirmed its preparedness to provide ongoing support as relief, response, and recovery efforts continue in Mindanao. The tectonic earthquake, which struck off Sarangani at 7:37 a.m., caused damage to buildings, disrupted utility services, and led to the suspension of classes and government work in several areas as local authorities assessed the impact.
