Butuan city: The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) 13 (Caraga Region) incinerated illegal drugs valued at over PHP15 million in Butuan City on Friday.
According to Philippines News Agency, PDEA-13 spokesperson Dindo Abellanosa provided data indicating that approximately 2,238.2 grams of shabu and 1,369.8 grams of marijuana, collectively worth PHP15,384,530, were destroyed during the event. The incineration took place at Orgon Wood Industries, Inc. in Barangay San Vicente.
Abellanosa explained in an interview that the destroyed drugs were confiscated as evidence in drug cases from various courts in Butuan City, Agusan del Sur, and Surigao City. Some of the illegal substances were also seized by PDEA-13 and the Philippine National Police (PNP).
PDEA-13 Director Levi Ortiz and Col. Restituto Lacano Jr., the deputy director of the Police Regional Office 13, led the destruction process of these confiscated drugs.
