Manila: The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corporation (PDIC) is set to conduct an electronic public bidding (e-bidding) for the sale of real properties in Visayas and Mindanao. This initiative is scheduled to take place from June 17 to June 18.
According to Philippines News Agency, the PDIC announced that the submission of bids will open at 9 a.m. on June 17 and close at 1 p.m. on June 18, with the bids being opened at 2 p.m. on the same day. The sale includes 44 properties, with nine situated in Koronadal City. The properties range from residential lots to agricultural lots, and one mixed-use lot, with sizes varying from 80 square meters to 19.5 hectares. These properties are spread across regions such as Antique, Cebu, Guimaras, Iloilo, Agusan del Norte, Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat, North Cotabato, and South Cotabato.
Interested buyers can access detailed property information, descriptions, and bidding procedures through the PDIC's official e-bidding portal. A one-time registration is required on the portal at https://assetsforsale.pdic.gov.ph/Account/Register, or alternatively, by clicking the 'Assets for Sale' icon on the PDIC website's homepage at www.pdic.gov.ph. Once registered, buyers can submit their bids online.
Prospective bidders are advised to perform due diligence regarding the properties' condition, status, and ownership. The PDIC, serving as the statutory receiver for closed banks, aims to liquidate assets to maximize recovery and settle claims of creditors, including those with uninsured deposits. Proceeds from these sales contribute to a fund managed by the Corporation for settling creditors' claims, while revenues from corporate asset sales support the Deposit Insurance Fund for valid insurance claims.
