PDRF and Allianz PNB Life Support Mindanao Earthquake Victims

General Santos:Manila Help continues to pour in for victims of the magnitude 7.8 earthquake that shook Mindanao in June. Beyond damaged homes and disrupted livelihoods are families working to regain a sense of normalcy and communities working day by day to rebuild what was lost.

According to Philippines News agency, employees of Allianz PNB Life initiated a voluntary fundraising drive to assist affected families. Allianz matched the contributions of its employees, resulting in a total donation of PHP350,000. These funds will be directed through the Philippine Disaster Resilience Foundation (PDRF) for its Child and Maternal Support Program targeting selected communities in Sarangani province and General Santos City.

The program aims to provide emergency nutrition assistance, newborn care packages, and hygiene and sanitation kits, particularly for children under five years of age, lactating mothers, their newborns, and other families still coping with the aftermath of the disaster. PDRF president Butch Meily expressed gratitude for the partnership, emphasizing the importance of collective action in providing comfort, hope, and practical assistance to those in need.

Allianz employees who participated in the initiative reflected on the drive as a reminder of the ongoing recovery process and the impact of small acts of support. Ryanne Balintec, Information Portfolio and Business Relationship Manager, highlighted the significance of letting affected families know they have not been forgotten. Similarly, Pionna Arenas, Service Excellence Lead, spoke about the power of collective generosity in aiding families' rebuilding efforts.
