PH Army Displays Rescue Capabilities to Thai Defense Delegation

Taguig city: Humanitarian assistance and disaster response (HADR) teams from the Philippine Army (PA) showcased their capabilities to a high-level Thai defense delegation. The demonstration, which took place at the PA headquarters in Fort Bonifacio, was part of the 5th Philippines-Thailand Joint Committee on Military Cooperation Meeting.

According to Philippines News Agency, PA spokesperson Col. Louie Dema-ala stated that the teams involved in the demonstration were from the 525th Combat Engineer Battalion (525ECBn), known for their role in rescue and disaster response operations. The visiting delegation from Thailand's Ministry of Defense was led by Deputy Permanent Secretary for Defense Gen. Tharapong Malakam.

Dema-ala mentioned that the Thai officials witnessed a range of HADR operations performed by the 525CEBn. The visit also highlighted the bilateral relations between the two countries' armies, with discussions on future collaborations and military cooperation expected to take place.

In addition to the demonstration, the Thai defense delegation visited the Philippine Army Museum, where they received a briefing on the PA's 128-year history.
