Las Vegas: Member companies of the Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines (HIMAP) secured USD79 million, or around PHP4.5 billion, worth of contracts during the recent Healthcare Information Management and Systems Society (HIMSS) Global Health Conference and Exhibition in Las Vegas. In a statement Monday, Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) Secretary Ma. Cristina Roque emphasized the Philippines' appeal as a key investment destination for backend support in the healthcare sector.
According to Philippines News Agency, Roque highlighted the country's unique positioning to meet the demands of the global healthcare information management sector, citing the Philippines' "culture of care" which translates into patient-centric services. She pointed out that the nation's robust business process outsourcing infrastructure, combined with technical proficiency and empathy, ensures efficient and human-centered healthcare services.
Export Marketing Bureau Director Bianca Pearl Sykimte reinforced this sentiment, noting the country's potential to become a global leader in healthcare information management services (HIMS). Sykimte mentioned the Philippines' strong economic performance and recent policy reforms as evidence of its commitment to fostering a competitive and business-friendly environment that promotes long-term economic growth.
The Filipino companies that participated in the US expo included ADEC Innovations Healthcare, Inspiro, iReply Back Office Services, Inc., JBW Managed Services and Consulting, Office Symmetry, Pointwest Innovations Corporation, RCM Staff BPO, VISAYA, Wagmi Phil and Call Center Power, and WorldSource.
Healthcare Information Management Association of the Philippines board member John Dave Due±as reported that the sector's revenue in 2024 reached USD4.2 billion with 190,000 full-time employees. Due±as emphasized the Philippines' blend of technical expertise and cultural empathy, which solidifies its position as the preferred destination for payer, provider, and life sciences outsourcing, ensuring world-class patient care and seamless healthcare operations.
