Manila: President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Tuesday conveyed the Philippines' condolences and solidarity to Colombia following a powerful 7.4-magnitude earthquake that left over 100 people dead and caused widespread devastation. In a Facebook post, Marcos offered sympathy to the Colombian government and people for the lives lost and the destruction caused by the earthquake. "Our thoughts are with all those affected," Marcos said. "As a nation along the Pacific Ring of Fire, Filipinos deeply understand the pain and challenges brought by earthquakes," he added.

According to Philippines News Agency, a powerful 7.4 magnitude earthquake struck western Colombia on Monday. Reports confirm that around 111 people have been killed, with 87 injured and several others trapped under rubble. At least 1,575 houses have also been reportedly damaged by the earthquake.

Marcos also expressed solidarity with Colombia as it recovers from the disaster. "We stand in solidarity with Colombia as they rise through this ordeal, rebuild livelihoods and communities, and recover completely," he said.
