Cagayan de oro: The number of registered members of the Philippine Health Insurance, Inc. (PhilHealth) in the Northern Mindanao region has surpassed 2.7 million, reaching 91 percent of the target for the year, as announced by an official on Wednesday. PhilHealth-10 Vice President Delio Aseron II revealed that these registered members also support over two million dependents through existing health programs as of June 2025.
According to Philippines News Agency, even foreign residents in Northern Mindanao who are paying members can take advantage of these programs, benefiting their dependents as well. Of the total beneficiaries, 2.5 million have enrolled in the Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (Yakap), which marks an improvement over the previous "Konsulta" package.
The Yakap program offers members free laboratory tests from accredited providers, as well as complimentary cancer screening tests and access to necessary medicines.
