PhilHealth Joins Laguna Mobile Pharmacy Program to Boost Public Awareness

San pedro city: Responding to the call of Governor Sol Aragones, the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) conducted an information drive on its Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (Konsulta) program on Wednesday. The agency joined the Akay ni Sol Mobile Botika (Pharmacy) initiative in four locations across the province.

According to Philippines News Agency, simultaneous activities were held in San Pedro City, Cabuyao City, and the municipalities of Pila and Nagcarlan. The goal was to raise public awareness of PhilHealth benefits, particularly the Konsulta package, an essential component of the Universal Health Care (UHC) Law that offers comprehensive outpatient services.

'Malaki ang maitulong ng PhilHealth sa ating healthcare system sa Laguna (PhilHealth can greatly contribute to strengthening Laguna's healthcare system),' Aragones said during her visit to San Pedro City, one of the featured sites. 'I encourage everyone to become PhilHealth members and avail of the many services they offer.'

Aragones earlier met with the Provincial Health Board and PhilHealth officials, where they identified public information campaigns as a key strategy to increase awareness of member benefits and encourage more residents to enroll.

The Konsulta program will now be integrated into the Akay ni Sol Mobile Botika, which provides free maintenance medicines for hypertension, high cholesterol, and high blood sugar. The mobile pharmacy visits four different areas every Wednesday and plans to expand its coverage until all 24 municipalities and six cities in Laguna have access to a community pharmacy starting September.

Aragones emphasized that partnerships with both government and private sectors are vital in strengthening healthcare services and infrastructure in the province.
