PhilHealth Pays P30.74 Billion in Benefit Claims Nationwide as of January 2026

Manila: The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) has paid nearly PHP30.74 billion in benefit claims nationwide as of January 2026, reflecting a 52.72 percent increase compared to the same period last year.

According to Philippines News Agency, data from PhilHealth showed that payments to private healthcare facilities reached PHP18.09 billion, while government hospitals received PHP12.65 billion. In January 2025, PhilHealth paid a total of PHP20.13 billion in benefit claims, including PHP11.37 billion to private hospitals and PHP8.76 billion to government health facilities.

The state insurer said the figures were based on reports of checks issued and advice, including payments credited daily under the scheme implemented in its regional offices in the Cordillera Administrative Region, Calabarzon, Zamboanga Peninsula, Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao, and Caraga.

PhilHealth stated that faster claims payments help ensure uninterrupted healthcare services for patients by enabling hospitals to maintain adequate staff, medicines, and medical supplies. The agency added that timely reimbursements also support the expansion of benefit packages, allowing members to access more screenings, medicines, and treatments.

PhilHealth reiterated that contributions from members and government subsidies are translated into accessible healthcare services for Filipinos through stronger partnerships with hospitals and healthcare providers.
