Antique: The Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) is set to launch the Guaranteed and Accessible Medication for Outpatient Treatment (GAMOT) program in Antique on Friday. This initiative will take place at the Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital (ASMGH) in San Jose de Buenavista as part of the nationwide Yaman ng Kalusugan Program (YAKAP) para sa Mangagawa activity in celebration of Labor Day.
According to Philippines News Agency, the GAMOT program is an integral component of the YAKAP initiative, which allows registered members to access prescribed medications up to a limit of PHP20,000. Liza Joyce Songcayawon, PhilHealth Antique Social Insurance Assistant I, mentioned that five accredited GAMOT facilities will be dispensing medicines during the event. These facilities include San Vicente Pharmacy in Anini-y, Essentiales Pharmacy in Patnongon, Antek Pharmacy in Bugasong, M and E Loriega Pharmacy in San Jose de Buenavista, and the ASMGH.
Songcayawon also stated that employees from three establishments-Esprutingkle Group of Companies, UniTop, and City Square in San Jose de Buenavista-will receive the necessary outpatient medications. Additionally, doctors from three YAKAP clinics will conduct consultations for outpatients or employees from these establishments to provide the prescriptions required to claim medicines from GAMOT facilities.
The program will also accommodate walk-in patients interested in availing of the services during the launch, provided they have prescriptions from YAKAP clinics. Notably, a pilot test for the GAMOT program was previously conducted on February 9, 2026, at San Vicente Pharmacy.
