Manila: The Philippines is set to host the Open Government Partnership (OGP) Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting from February 5 to 7, 2025. This significant event will gather heads of state, state leaders, representatives from civil society, international organizations, and policymakers from across the region, all aiming to enhance democratic practices and advance efforts in making governments more open and accountable. According to Philippines News Agency, the agenda of the meeting will include a variety of high-level and ministerial sessions, interactive breakout sessions, networking opportunities, and side events. Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary and PH-OGP Chairperson Amenah Pangandaman has encouraged delegates and participants to register and take part in the summit. She expressed her hopes for the event to be the most dynamic, fruitful, and memorable OGP Regional Summit. The OGP is a multi-stakeholder initiative involving 75 countries and 150 local governments, representing over two billion people, along with thousands of civil society organizations advocating for transparent, participatory, inclusive, and accountable governance. Registration for the 2025 OGP Asia and the Pacific Regional Meeting is now open, inviting participants to engage in this pivotal event aimed at fostering open government practices.
