PHLPost Honored with Award for Stakeholder Engagement Excellence.

Manila: The Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLPost) has been recognized for its exemplary governance and relationship with stakeholders over the past three years. The Governance Commission for Government-Owned and Controlled Corporation (GCG) awarded PHLPost a special accolade for consistently achieving a perfect score in the stakeholder relationship section from 2021 to 2023. According to Philippines News Agency, the GCG honors government-owned and controlled corporations (GOCCs) for their exceptional performance and commitment to good governance standards. This recognition highlights PHLPost's dedication to maintaining strong, transparent, and effective partnerships with its stakeholders. In a news release, PHLPost Board Chair Justice Stephen Cruz expressed his gratitude towards the organization's employees, stating, "I congratulate all the men and women of PHLPost for their hard work, loyalty and dedication to public service." PHLPost Postmaster General Luis Carlos noted that this acknowledgment undersco res the organization's consistency in stakeholder engagement, which is vital for advancing its modernization and digital transformation initiatives. "We are grateful to the GCG for this recognition, as we remain committed in our mission to provide reliable and quality service to the Filipino people," Carlos stated. The GCG is responsible for evaluating the performance of GOCCs to ensure their operations remain transparent and responsive to public needs. The Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS), an assessment tool for evaluating the corporate governance practices of GOCCs, is mandated by Republic Act No. 10149, also known as the GOCC Governance Act. The CGS uses a methodology benchmarked against the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development Principles of Corporate Governance and the ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard.
