Manila: The Philippine National Police-Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) has confiscated over PHP9.7 million worth of illegal drugs and arrested 16 drug personalities from July 7 to 13.
According to Philippines News Agency, PDEG acting chief Brig. Gen. Edwin Quilates reported that the 12 operations conducted during this period resulted in the seizure of 705.5 grams of shabu and 3,275 grams of kush, a high-grade marijuana, with a total value of PHP9.71 million.
The operations led to the arrest of 10 high-value individuals and four street-level drug suspects. Brig. Gen. Quilates highlighted that these arrests are anticipated to significantly impact local drug syndicates.
He emphasized the importance of these operations in reinforcing the PNP's broader strategy aimed at dismantling and weakening drug networks operating across the country. Quilates commended the dedication, vigilance, and professionalism of his team, urging them to continue their excellent work in the ongoing fight against illegal drugs.
