Manila: The Philippine National Police - Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) reported Tuesday that it seized nearly PHP78 million worth of narcotics in October. According to Philippines News Agency, PDEG chief Brig. Gen. Eleazar Matta stated that 71 operations conducted during the month resulted in the arrest of 80 drug personalities. These operations led to the confiscation of 3.5 kilograms of suspected shabu, 33 kilograms of kush, 33.04 kilograms of dried marijuana, 45 milliliters of marijuana oil, 700 marijuana seedlings, and 2,800 fully grown marijuana plants. The total estimated value of these items reached PHP77.9 million. Brig. Gen. The figures reflect the administration's firm stance on curbing illegal drug operations throughout the country. Matta further commended the dedication of the PNP DEG personnel. He noted that, under the direction of Chief Gen. Rommel Francisco Marbil, the unit continues to pursue a recalibrated approach in the fight against illegal drugs, ensuring respect for human rights and the preservation of life while holding violators accountable.
