Manila: The Philippine National Police (PNP) has committed to swiftly implementing resolutions from the National Police Commission (Napolcom) concerning cases involving misconduct by police officers. Lt. Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., the acting chief of the PNP, emphasized the organization's dedication to maintaining discipline and integrity, stating that while they support personnel who are unjustly accused, those who exploit their authority have no place in the force.

According to Philippines News Agency, the Napolcom has reported successfully resolving pending cases against erring police officers, addressing a backlog that spanned over 25 years. This achievement was hailed by Napolcom Vice Chairperson and Executive Officer Rafael Vicente Calinisan as an 'institutional milestone' in promoting efficiency, accountability, and justice within the agency.

Lt. Gen. Nartatez highlighted that this development represents a strengthened commitment to transparency and internal accountability, aligning with President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.'s directive to ensure law enforcement agencies uphold the rule of law, enforce accountability, and foster public trust in the PNP.
