Zamboanga sibugay: Authorities have launched a manhunt operation to arrest the suspects behind the killing of an education official in Zamboanga Sibugay province on Thursday night, a police official said in a report Friday.
According to Philippines News Agency, Zamboanga Sibugay police director Col. Barnard Danie Dasug identified the victim as Rey Dalaota Camaingking, 45, a district supervisor of the Department of Education (DepEd) in Alicia town. Dasug stated that Camaingking was shot dead around 7:20 p.m. in Sitio Guicam, Barangay Dawa-Dawa.
'Initial investigation revealed that while the victim was walking at the Guicam Port, two unidentified persons suddenly approached the victim and shot him in the head with a .45-caliber pistol,' Dasug said in his report. The perpetrators sped off on a motorcycle toward Barangay Kawayan.
Dasug mentioned that police units in Zamboanga Sibugay were alerted to help in the manhunt. Police investigators have yet to determine the motive behind the attack.
