Nueva ecija: Police arrested a high-value drug suspect and two others in a buy-bust operation here late Tuesday, confiscating suspected shabu worth PHP2.04 million. The Talavera Municipal Police Station's drug enforcement team, with provincial units, conducted the operation in Barangay Calipahan at 10:50 p.m., the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO) said in a statement Wednesday.
According to Philippines News Agency, arrested were suspects known by the aliases Maria, 38, a high-value individual; Maricris, 25; and Juliet, 53. All are unemployed. Authorities said the suspects sold one plastic sachet of suspected shabu to an undercover officer. A subsequent search yielded seven more sachets, with the total haul estimated at 300 grams.
Police conducted the on-site inventory of evidence with required witnesses per legal procedures. The suspects face charges for violating the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002, NEPPO said.
