Pope Francis’s Tomb Crafted from Ligurian Marble with Sole Inscription

Vatican City: The Vatican announced Thursday that Pope Francis's tomb has been crafted from Ligurian marble and bears a simple inscription: Franciscus, his name in Latin, along with a depiction of his pectoral cross. The tomb, which will house the Pope's body following his passing, has been placed in a niche along the side nave of the Basilica of Santa Maria Maggiore, between the Cappella Paolina (Chapel of the Salus Populi Romani) and the Cappella Sforza.

According to Philippines News Agency, the tomb is situated near the Altar of Saint Francis, reflecting the Pope's deep devotion to his namesake.
