Manila: Police Regional Office-Northern Mindanao (PRO-10) reported a 21.6 percent decline in index crime during the third quarter of 2025.
According to Philippines News Agency, the PRO-10 Investigation and Detective Management Division posted on Facebook that 115 index crimes were recorded from July to September, marking a significant drop compared to approximately 500 cases reported in the same quarter of 2024. Index crimes, as defined by the Philippine National Police, include crimes against persons such as murder, homicide, rape, and physical injury, as well as crimes against property like robbery, theft, and carjacking.
'While these numbers reflect a significant decline in crimes, our mission goes beyond statistics. It is about ensuring that every resident of Northern Mindanao feels safe in their homes, workplaces, and communities,' PRO-10 Acting Director Brig. Gen. Christopher Abrahano said.
