Butuan city: The Police Regional Office in the Caraga Region (PRO-13) reported the successful confiscation of over PHP5.4 million worth of illegal drugs during a series of 30 operations carried out from September 1 to 10. During this period, law enforcement officials apprehended 35 suspects, including 26 street-level individuals and nine high-value targets.
According to Philippines News Agency, the operations led to the seizure of 160.5 grams of shabu, valued at over PHP1 million, 5.80 grams of dried marijuana worth PHP696, and 3,125 grams of kush, the high-grade variant of marijuana, valued at over PHP4.3 million. The most significant shabu confiscation occurred on September 4 in Barangay Masao, Butuan City, where 70 grams, valued at PHP476,000, were seized from two high-value individuals. Additionally, on September 6, a significant amount of 3,125 grams of kush was confiscated in Barangay Tawin-Tawin, General Luna, Surigao del Norte, from a street-level individual.
PRO-13 Director Brig. Gen. Marcial Mariano Magistrado IV emphasized the office's ongoing commitment to targeting high-value individuals and dismantling drug networks throughout the region. He expressed gratitude for the support from residents and various agencies in the continuous battle against illegal drug activities in the area.
