PRO-3 Champions Digital Transformation of Squad Meetings

Manila: Brig. Gen. Ponce Rogelio Pe±ones Jr., Police Regional Office-3 (PRO-3) chief, led the official launch of the Digitalized Squad Weekly Interaction Meeting (SWIM) on Thursday at the PRO-3 Patrol Hall here. In an interview, Pe±ones said the digital initiative directly responds to the Philippine National Police's (PNP) internal transformation roadmap and aligns with the Chief PNP's Peace and Security Framework, specifically its Second Pillar: "Unity and Morale within the Ranks."

According to Philippines News Agency, by integrating technology into regular squad sessions, the PNP aims to strengthen interaction, spiritual resilience, and camaraderie among its personnel. Attendees included key officials from the My Brother's Keeper (MBK) Philippines program, an initiative supporting the spiritual and moral development of PNP personnel, led by its national chairperson, retired Maj. Gen. Manuel O. Aplasca.

Core Advocates, National Coordinators, and MBK Advisers also participated in the launch, alongside squad leaders from various provincial, city, and municipal police stations and mobile force battalions across Central Luzon. A highlight of the event was a simulation of a digitalized MBK Squad Meeting. Squad leaders used their mobile devices to conduct a real-time, interactive session, demonstrating how digital platforms can streamline communication and deepen engagement during weekly meetings.

Pe±ones underscored the importance of embracing digital transformation as a tool for empowerment within the police force. 'By embracing digital tools, we make our systems more accessible and relevant-further strengthening our commitment to unity, morale, and spiritual growth within our ranks,' he said during his keynote speech.

The digitalization of SWIM reflects the PNP's broader goal of creating a more connected, inspired, and mission-ready police force, the PRO-3 chief said. The rollout of the digital SWIM system in PRO3 is expected to serve as a model for other regional offices as the PNP continues to pursue transformative programs that blend tradition, discipline, and innovation.
