Prosecution Awaits Impeachment Court’s Pre-Trial Order on Vice President Duterte’s Case

Manila: House of Representatives trial spokesman Rep. Zia Alonto Adiong of Lanao del Sur announced that the House prosecution panel is awaiting the Senate impeachment court's pre-trial order, as the trial of Vice President Sara Z. Duterte is set to begin on July 6.

According to Philippines News Agency, the pre-trial order is crucial as it will outline how the trial will proceed. Adiong mentioned in a radio interview that the House prosecution panel is ready and is currently waiting for the pre-trial order to be released by the court. This order will guide the flow of the actual trial.

The impeachment court's pre-trial order will address requests and issues raised by the prosecution and the Vice President's defense team during the pre-trial conference. Among these are requests such as opening a sealed Bureau of Internal Revenue box that contains the Vice President's tax records and the use of Filipino as a medium of language during the trial. Adiong emphasized that the release of the pre-trial order will inform both sides and the public about the resolved issues before the trial commences.
