PSA-Negros Oriental Prepares for 2025 Women’s Health Survey

Manila: The Philippine Statistics Authority in Negros Oriental is preparing for the 2025 National Demographic and Health Survey, slated to begin in October, an official announced on Thursday.

According to Philippines News Agency, the survey aims to identify health issues and other concerns of women, particularly those aged 15-49 who are of childbearing age. Engineer Ariel Fortuito, Chief Statistical Specialist and Provincial Head of the PSA-Negros Oriental, stated that the survey's findings would serve as a basis for national agencies and authorities to address these concerns effectively.

Fortuito explained in an interview that they are currently in the process of hiring enumerators and other contract of service individuals to conduct the survey. These personnel will undergo training this month in preparation for the enumeration period, which runs from October 13 to November 29.

The survey will cover 393 sample households and will focus on collecting data related to women's and maternal health, fertility, and family planning. Fortuito mentioned that the enumerators will all be women to ensure the gathering of sensitive information is handled appropriately.

The confidentiality of survey respondents is guaranteed, as the survey is conducted in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund.
