Public Encouraged to Watch New DOSTv Programs

Manila: The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) is enhancing its engagement with the public to make science, technology, and innovation (STI) more accessible through multimedia channels.

According to Philippines News Agency, DOST announced in a news release that "NegoSiyensya" will air every Saturday at 9 a.m. on GTV and DZBB starting June 13. The program will showcase the agency's initiatives and technologies that support productivity, livelihood, and economic development. Described as a science and technology-oriented business program, "NegoSiyensya" will highlight how STI creates opportunities and provides solutions for sectors such as micro, small, and medium enterprises, farmers, fisherfolk, local government units, and communities.

Another program, "Sci.Say," will begin airing every Thursday at 6 p.m. on DOSTvPH's Spotify account, YouTube channel, and official website, starting June 11. The program is designed to make science conversations more accessible and engaging, particularly for younger and digital audiences. A cohost from a partner university will join each episode to lead discussions and interviews with guest scientists, researchers, and experts. The program aims to explore science, technology, innovation, and emerging trends in a conversational format.

DOST Secretary Renato Solidum Jr. shared with the Philippine News Agency that these programs are part of the agency's celebration of "10 years of bringing science closer to every Filipino through stories of innovation, discovery, and opportunity." He encouraged the public to watch the launch of "NegoSiyensya" and "Sci.Say" as they aim to make science more relevant, accessible, and engaging for various communities and the next generation of science communicators.
